Le résumé fourni par la source
This scoping review aimed to map recent scientific evidence on guidance related to aortic aneurysm directed at older adults in the hospital setting. The methodological recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) were adopted, and the review was reported in accordance with PRISMA-ScR. We identified, selected, and synthesized studies published since 2020, considering care practices and management of older adults with aortic aneurysm in the hospital setting. A total of 34 publications were included in the final synthesis, most of which were retrospective cohort studies conducted in high-income countries. The findings were organized into thematic axes encompassing the importance of diagnosis, baseline geriatric assessment, modifiable risk factors amenable to perioperative care, socioemotional aspects, shared decision-making, treatment strategies, and treatment risks and outcomes. The analysis of the studies indicates that hospital care for older adults with aortic aneurysm is influenced by multiple clinical, functional, and psychosocial factors, in addition to reinforcing the need for structured educational guidance to improve care and support decision-making
