ABSTRACT Through a conceptual analysis of Ryan Coogler's Sinners (2025), this article explores how Black men transform suffering into meaning, resilience, and collective healing as a humanistic and liberation‐centered praxis. Rather than offering peace, the film invites viewers to confront what peace demands. Leveraging principles of conscientization, cultural healing as resistance, and collective liberation, the article notes how wellness is often earned, not inherited, and is built through sacrifice, memory, and survival. Sinners reframes healing not as closure but as reckoning, the painful and transformative process of becoming whole through what once threatened to destroy. Integrating liberation psychology and humanistic counseling, this manuscript positions wellness as relational, spiritual, and embodied, where joy and pain coexist; and, where the “bite,” the “blues,” and the “burden together” testify to freedom still worth reaching for. Implications are offered for counselors and educators seeking liberation‐centered, culturally grounded, and meaning‐oriented practice, specifically for Black men.
