Former studies have exclusively focused on the distortion of currently presented information. The current study tests whether participants also distort previously presented information in hindsight and investigates the role of preferences, information's properties (i.e. strength and valence) and distance between the first presentation of information on this process. Furthermore, we aim to replicate central effects from studies 1 and 2 concerning moderation by coherence for information distortion of both, currently and previously presented information pieces.
