Résumé fourni par la source

v1.0.0 — Initial archived release This is the first archived release of the Living Landscape mallee condition-state map. The release contains an interactive web map of vegetation condition states across the Living Landscape study region in the South Australian mallee. The map combines: mapped vegetation type; overstorey or canopy condition; and understorey condition derived from a grazing pressure index. These inputs were linked through a rule-based matrix based on expert-elicited State-and-Transition Models. The resulting condition states represent combinations of overstorey and understorey condition, ranging from reference vegetation through modified, highly modified and collapsed states. The mapping focuses on Shrubby Mallee, Triodia Mallee and Derived Grassland within the case study region. Condition-state raster values include the principal overstorey–understorey combinations, together with additional Triodia grassland, shrubland and resprouting mallee states represented in the STM framework. This map is intended as a broad-scale decision-support product for exploring vegetation condition and informing conservation planning, restoration and habitat assessment. It should be interpreted alongside field validation, local ecological knowledge, classification uncertainty and the assumptions of the underlying spatial models and State-and-Transition Models. The live interactive version is available through the project's GitHub Pages website or can be accessed here Supported by the Australian Government's National Environmental Science Program through the Resilient Landscapes Hub.
