The focus of this chapter is on the development of human review and override elements in automated security operation systems. It discusses the fundamental reasons for a significant human intervention to lessen automation bias, handle false alarms, and make sure that decisions are made in a legal way. The chapter looks at various principles underlying the effective review, such as the transparency of alerts, the interpretability of model outputs, role- based authority, and the availability of timely escalation channels. Furthermore, it highlights operational difficulties such as alert fatigue, the alignment of skills, and the maintenance of the pace of response together with oversight. The chapter, by merging legal requirements with security engineering practice, offers a roadmap for setting up review and override mechanisms that are not only feasible and proportional but also robust and compliant with automation while not weakening security effectiveness.
