Currently, the environmental changes are risking the livelihoods of farmers all over the planet by worsening dry spells, heat waves, floods, and other climatic conditions, as well as creating a deluge of new pests and bugs. Given that, globally, by the year 2050, we will need to produce roughly 70% more food to feed an anticipated 9 billion people, the challenge of ensuring food security will become increasingly difficult. Climate change will make the environmental impacts of meeting this rising food demand even worse. The agricultural sector is the main driver of climate change, accounting for 29% of all greenhouse gas emissions. To ensure food security, management of livestock, crops, and land, and climate-resilient agriculture, or Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) is a cohesive pathway. The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) introduced CSA in 2010 as an innovative, environmentally friendly alternative to conventional farming, with the goal of increasing resource efficiency, resilience, and productivity in the agricultural production system while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This study is conducted to understand the CSA interventions and strategies adopted by countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Vietnam as an all-inclusive approach to improve food security and promote sustainable development. The key approaches are addressing climate change challenges; identifying synergies and trade-offs for productivity; and tailoring technologies and processes to enable these countries to adopt climate-resistant crops, species management, agroforestry, water management, livestock management, and precision farming.
