Exploring the association between sedentary behavior and chronic musculoskeletal pain in community-dwelling older adults: A scoping review
Résumé fourni par la source
This scoping review aims to systematically map the available literature investigating the associations between chronic musculoskeletal pain and sedentary behavior in older adults living in homelike environments. The review will identify and summarize evidence on behavioral (e.g., lifestyle habits), social (e.g., social support), physical (e.g., mobility limitations, comorbidities), psychological (e.g., depression, anxiety, fear of movement, pain self-efficacy), and medication-related factors (e.g., analgesic use, polypharmacy) that may influence or be associated with sedentary behavior in individuals with chronic musculoskeletal pain. In addition, the review will identify gaps in the current evidence base to inform future research and the development of interventions aimed at reducing sedentary behavior and improving health outcomes in older adults.
