Identity Processes in Parkinson's Disease: A Meta-Ethnography

This project is a qualitative evidence synthesis examining identity processes in people living with Parkinson's disease (PD). The review will use meta-ethnography, following the seven phases described by Noblit and Hare (1988) and informed by contemporary methodological guidance, to synthesise qualitative research exploring identity, sense of self, personhood, role change, meaning-making, and related self-concept processes. The review aims to develop an interpretive understanding of how identity is experienced, maintained, disrupted, and reconstructed across the Parkinson's disease trajectory. Qualitative findings from eligible studies will be synthesised to generate higher-order interpretations and a conceptual understanding of identity-related experiences in people living with Parkinson's disease.
