Diagnosis. Length of forewing 18–20.5 mm in males and 22–24.5 mm in females. The nominate subspecies can be distinguished from M. ada javana from Sumatra and Java by the larger and separated postmedial metallic patches and the less developed metallic blue scales surrounding the patches in postmedial area on forewing in males, and the more extensive metallic blue scales on forewing apex and submarginal area in females. The male genitalia of the nominate subspecies differ from M. ada javana by the larger genital capsule, the larger medial protrusion on juxta and the broader phallus. The female genitalia of the two subspecies have no fundamental differences. Distribution. East Malaysia (Borneo) (Fig. 155).
