The ANDES (ArmazoNes high Dispersion Echelle Spectrograph) is a second-generation instrument for ESO’s ELT, designed to deliver ultra-stable, high-resolution spectroscopy from the visible to the near-infrared. It will enable breakthrough science, from detecting Earth-like exoplanets to measuring cosmic acceleration. ANDES relies on two key subsystems: the SCAO module, which provides diffraction-limited correction of atmospheric turbulence, and the IFU, which reformats and injects the corrected beam into the spectrograph fiber with high efficiency. This work presents the design of the control electronics and software for both subsystems. The architecture is based on Beckhoff programmable logic controllers (PLCs) integrated within the ELT Instrument Control Framework (IFW), ensuring compliance with ESO standards for communication, synchronization, and safety.
