Le résumé fourni par la source

Conventional robotics curricula often face significant hurdles such as high procurement costs of hardware, complex maintenance, and the need for specialized facilities, which limit widespread adoption of robotics education. This paper introduces MIRE, a Mixed Reality (MR) platform for robotics education that offers an immersive, interactive, and cost-effective alternative to traditional hardware-dependent systems. MIRE provides 3D visualization of robots within real world environments via MR, thereby enabling users to explore and manipulate detailed robotic systems without the financial and logistical burdens associated with physical hardware. MIRE consists of dedicated modules for four types of robots: a ground robot, a fixed-base manipulator, a drone, and an underwater robot. Each module includes comprehensive hardware visualizations and incorporates advanced interactive features such as hand gesture recognition, eye tracking, and voice command control. These features facilitate an intuitive learning experience for students by bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in robotics education. The effectiveness of the platform was rigorously evaluated through survey questionnaires administered to the users. Feedback indicates that MIRE not only enhances the understanding of complex robotic mechanisms among students but also significantly increases their enthusiasm and engagement with robots. Overall, MIRE demonstrates a scalable and adaptable MR framework with the potential to transform robotics education.
