Le résumé fourni par la source
The Low Order and Reference (LOR) of MORFEO, the multi‑conjugate adaptive optics relay for the ELT, incorporates three axisymmetric optical benches equipped with pick‑off mirrors to track guide stars. The system geometry introduces potential collisions between arms and adjacent structures, requiring protective measures. An anti‑collision and damping system was developed, combining conductive contact detection with mechanical energy absorption to ensure safe operation. Validation through a dedicated mock‑up and experimental campaign confirmed the effectiveness of the approach. The architecture of the damping system, the mock-up design, and the results of the validation tests are presented here to provide a reference case for the design of next-generation instrumentation.
