Dataset and Analyses Script - Darwin's naturalization conundrum in the Azores: Scale-dependent patterns of arthropod invasion
Résumé fourni par la source
This repository contains data and R scripts from long-term monitoring programs (BALA and SLAM) in Azorean native forests, analyzing functional trait data for exotic and endemic spiders and beetles across space and time. The code tests Darwin’s naturalization conundrum by comparing observed exotic–endemic community structure against null models. Results show mostly neutral patterns (SES near zero), with weak functional overdispersion only for beetles in certain contexts, suggesting stochastic processes and landscape filters (e.g., fragmentation, anthropogenic pressure) override deterministic competition in shaping arthropod invasions.
