Understanding Longitudinal Population Study data and the Law: Summary

UK Longitudinal Linkage Collaboration has produced a series of transparency materials to support Longitudinal Population Study (LPS) participants to understand the legal basis for study data use, and their rights. This infographic summarises four laws and legal principles related to the use of LPS data for research: UK Data Protection Laws, Digital Economy Act 2017, common law duty of confidentiality and Control of Patient Information (COPI) Regulations 2002/Section 251 of the NHS Act 2006. Each infographic is also available as an audio file and a British Sign Language video. They are also available in Welsh, Polish, Bengali, Punjabi and Urdu.
