This repository contains all the necessary code, input data, and output results to fully reproduce the inversion results presented in the manuscript: "Multi-Observable Probabilistic Inversion for Whole-Lithosphere Structure and Water Content" 1. Inversion Executables File Description LITMOD.exe The main executable for the probabilistic inversion algorithm. This version incorporates all observables, including magnetotelluric (MT) data, in the joint inversion framework. LITMOD1.exe An alternative executable for the inversion algorithm without MT data constraints. This allows comparison of results with and without magnetotelluric observations, highlighting the added value of MT data in resolving lithospheric structure and water content. 2. Input Data Files File Description input_data*.dat Input observational datasets for inversions. These files contain surface-wave dispersion, geoid anomalies, topography, heat flow, and other geophysical observables used in the probabilistic framework. input_data_MT*.dat These files supplement the above datasets with magnetotelluric data. 3. Configuration Files File Description input_DRAM.dat Parameter configuration file for the Delayed Rejection Adaptive Metropolis (DRAM) algorithm, which drives the Bayesian probabilistic inversion. This file controls proposal distributions, chain lengths, acceptance rates, and other MCMC sampling parameters. 4. Inversion Results File Description Water_mean*.xyz Output data files containing the mean mantle water content (in ppm) derived from the probabilistic inversion of observational data. Temp*.xyz Output data files containing the lithospheric temperature structure (in °C) obtained from the inversion, representing the posterior mean thermal model across the study domain. 5. Plotting Scripts File Description plot_water.m MATLAB script for visualizing the inverted mantle water content distribution. Generates publication-quality figures. plot_temp.m MATLAB script for visualizing the inverted lithospheric temperature field. How to Reproduce the Results Run the inversion: For the full inversion (with MT data): execute LITMOD.exe with the corresponding input_data_MT*.dat and input_data*.dat files. For the comparison inversion (without MT data): execute LITMOD1.exe with the input_data*.dat files. Visualize the outputs: Launch MATLAB and run plot_water.m to generate water content figures. Run plot_temp.m to generate temperature structure figures. Dependencies: MATLAB (R2018b or later recommended) for plotting scripts. Windows environment for the executable files (or Wine/Linux emulation if needed). Notes for Reviewers All input data files are provided in plain-text format for transparency and easy inspection. The executable files were compiled for Windows; if you encounter compatibility issues, please contact the authors for alternative versions. The inversion results (Water_mean*.xyz and Temp*.xyz) are included so that reviewers can directly examine the outputs without running the computationally expensive inversion.
