Expanding the Frontiers of Transplantation: Highlights from the 35th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Organ Transplantation 2025, Jaipur, India

The 35 th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Organ Transplantation (ISOT 2025), held in Jaipur, India, convened over 2200 participants, including transplant surgeons, nephrologists, immunologists, coordinators, policymakers, and scientists, reflecting the multidisciplinary nature of modern transplantation. The theme, “Innovation, Precision, and Equity,” highlighted advances in immunology, organ preservation, surgical technology, policy, and education. Across over 10 structured workshops, hands-on training focused on human leukocyte antigen (HLA) eplet matching, crossmatch interpretation, robotic surgery, and organ procurement. Scientific sessions showcased non-HLA antibody profiling, donor-derived cell-free DNA for early graft monitoring, immune repertoire analysis, and innovations in machine perfusion and multiorgan transplantation, with 350 scientific abstracts presented across oral, mini-oral, and poster categories. Policy discussions addressed artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled kidney-paired donation, harmonized protocols, and equitable allocation. Global collaborations and sessions on xenotransplantation, bioengineered organs, and AI-driven decision-making defined emerging frontiers. This report synthesizes the ISOT 2025 highlights, offering a forward-looking perspective on precision, equity, and transformative progress in transplantation in the Global South.
