On the Autocentral Series of a Group

Let G be a group. Following Ellis, a group M is said to be a G-group if there exists a homomorphism φ : G → Aut(M) such that Inn(M) ≤ Im(φ). In the present article we study the upper and lower G-central series of a G-group M and derive, among other results, a generalization of a famous theorem by Hegarty on the autocentre of a group.
