Long-term crop model simulations and marginality layers for assessing oilseed bioenergy potential on Italian marginal lands

The data reported here are the outputs of the long-term simulations described in the paper “Ensembling crop models and Multi-Criteria Analysis to unlock bioenergy from marginal lands: a scenario-based assessment from Italy”. The comma-separated value files represent different combinations of process-based crop model, crop, and management scenario. The crop models are DSSAT and ARMOSA. The crops are abbreviated as follows: car = Brassica carinata, castor = Ricinus communis, and saff = Carthamus tinctorius. The management scenarios are classified as low-input or minimum-input. In each file, in addition to the model outputs, a unique code identifying each simulation point is also reported. The list of all points, together with their map position and associated marginality class, is provided in the file “points with code and marginality”. These datasets were used to produce Figures 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the manuscript. The file “final marginality” represents the final marginality map obtained for the Corine Land Cover classes selected for the analysis, and corresponds to Figure 1 of the manuscript.
