Bidirectional SOP Sensing for Infrastructure-Aware Optical Networks
Le résumé fourni par la source
Optical networks lack direct awareness of external infrastructure conditions along deployed fibre routes. This paper presents a bidirectional SOP-based integrated sensing and communication framework that harvests route-level and eventlevel information from live metropolitan fibre links. Experiments on 7.776 km and 8 km deployed links show distinct routedependent SOP behaviour, train-traffic-related signatures, and train-induced vibration localization with an average error of 0.466 km, while maintaining stable communication performance. The results demonstrate that in-service communication fibre can act as an infrastructure-awareness layer for future opticalnetwork monitoring, resilience, and maintenance support.
