Mapping bullying, cyberbullying and hate speech: a scoping review of definitions and evidence

This scoping review maps definitions, measures, prevalence, and empirical evidence linking bullying, cyberbullying, and hate speech among university students (2014–2026). It combines peer‑reviewed studies and grey literature (theses, reports, policy documents, preprints) to identify conceptual overlaps and differences, common risk/protective factors, and documented impacts on victimization, perpetration, and bystander exposure. Methods include systematic searches across academic databases, institutional repositories, search engines, and targeted expert contact; data extraction will record definitions, instruments, study designs, prevalence estimates, and implications for prevention and policy.
