H., & Forsyth, A.Climbing to Extinction: Demographic Constraints Limit Upslope Redistribution in Andean Dung Beetles. The study evaluates long-term changes in tropical montane dung beetle communities using four standardized resurveys conducted between 1999 and 2023 along a 2,200-m elevational gradient in the Peruvian Andes. Analyses were performed using a Bayesian Dynamic Community Occupancy Model (DCM) to estimate occupancy, colonization, extinction, and net demographic balance while accounting for imperfect detection. The repository includes: Raw and processed detection/non-detection data. Site and sampling metadata. JAGS model specification. Annotated R scripts used for data preparation, model fitting, and reproduction of manuscript figures and tables. Reproducibility files documenting the computational environment and software versions. These materials are provided to ensure full transparency and reproducibility of the analyses and to facilitate future applications of dynamic community occupancy models to studies of insect conservation and climate-driven biodiversity change.
