napari-cilia-assistant: A napari plugin for ciliary beat frequency analysis from high-speed microscopy videos

napari-cilia-assistant is an open-source napari plugin for exploratory ciliary motion analysis from high-speed AVI microscopy videos. The plugin provides an interactive workflow for loading AVI videos, inspecting video metadata, selecting cilia regions of interest, measuring region-of-interest intensity changes over time, and estimating ciliary beat frequency using FFT, Welch PSD, periodogram, and peak-interval methods. It also supports kymograph review, spatial ciliary beat frequency heatmaps, motion activity maps, experimental optical-flow descriptors, CSV export of ROI signals and spectra, and graph export for documentation. The software is intended for research use in microscopy-based cilia motion analysis. It supports quantitative ROI- based ciliary beat frequency measurement and exploratory spatial screening, but it does not provide clinical diagnostic classification or full ciliary waveform interpretation.
