Le résumé fourni par la source
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is modernizing checkpoint alarm resolution to address increasing passenger volumes, evolving threats, and operational demands. This presentation outlines TSA’s current and emerging capabilities to achieve more accurate, efficient, and integrated detection. We will summarize today’s tools—Explosive Trace Detection (ETD), Bottle Liquid Scanners (BLS), Chemical Analytics Devices (CAD), and colorimetric kits—and highlight ongoing improvements to detection performance, safety, and usability. The talk will then describe efforts to streamline operator decision-making through targeted sampling, system integration, and the development of common detection engines and decision analytics tools. Looking ahead, we will focus on next-generation Bulk Resolution Technology (BRT) and Tabletop X-Ray Diffraction (TTX) to expand material coverage, enable screening of opaque sealed objects, reduce consumable use, and minimize unnecessary escalations. These advancements, supported by collaboration with DHS Science and Technology and other partners, are intended to maintain strong security while improving checkpoint efficiency and ultimately the passenger experience.
