An Intersectional Analysis of gender differences in access to care in those affected by skin neglected tropical diseases

Skin neglected tropical diseases (SNTDs) affect millions of people in low and middle income regions every year, resulting in stigma, disability and morbidity. While gender is increasingly recognised as a determinant of health, little is known about how gender interacts with other socioeconomic factors to influence access to care in SNTDs. This scoping review aims to map existing evidence on gender differences in access to care, utilising an intersectional lens. This review aims to inform future research in this area, as well as gender responsive SNTD care policy.
