Le résumé fourni par la source
The global development of offshore wind energy has increased the need to understand the long-term environmental effects of operational noise. While marine mammals may spend limited periods of time at such short distances from the turbines, fish and invertebrates may be attracted to these areas and would then be exposed for prolonged periods of time. This mini-review describes characteristics of noise in and around bottom-mounted and floating wind turbines and discusses how the life history and behavior of marine fish and invertebrates may mediate exposure to noise. The conclusion is that noise from Offshore Wind Farms (OWF), even though levels are low, can lead to ecological changes. Paying attention to structural changes in turbines that reduce sound propagation can therefore have significant positive impacts.
