Abstract For the Precise Orbit Determination (POD) of Earth orbiting satellites, the accurate knowledge and modeling of non-gravitational forces is essential. The aim of this study is to accurately and efficiently model accelerations induced by both Solar Radiation Pressure (SRP) and Earth Radiation Pressure (ERP) on Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites to investigate differences of each combination of models and their impact on the solution’s estimation. To achieve this, experiments were conducted on three satellites, namely Jason-3, Sentinel-3A, and Sentinel-6A, along with various occultation models and NASA CERES observation data, for a time period of several months. The study displays an overview of the results of each implementation and discusses the differences of the outcomes, giving an insight on both the algorithmic implementation and the advantages of the models used for POD application s.
