Data products for "A Three-Dimensional Tomographic Reconstruction of the Galactic Cosmic-Ray Proton Density"
Résumé fourni par la source
This dataset contains the data products associated with the paper: “A Three-Dimensional Tomographic Reconstruction of the Galactic Cosmic-Ray Proton Density”. The released products provide the reconstructed three-dimensional cosmic-ray proton (CRp) normalization field inferred from diffuse gamma-ray emission and a three-dimensional gas distribution using a Bayesian tomographic reconstruction framework. The reconstruction is represented in terms of the CRp normalization field ñ_p assuming a power-law CR proton spectrum with spectral index α = 2.7. The stored quantity is expressed in units of cm^-3. The corresponding differential CR proton number density at a reference kinetic energy of 30 GeV can be obtained through: n(30 GeV) = 8.5 × 10^-5 × ñ_p with units of GeV^-1 cm^-3. The dataset includes: • Posterior mean and posterior standard deviation maps of the reconstructed CRp normalization field.• Posterior samples of the reconstructed CRp field.• Radial grid metadata including radial bin centres, edges, and widths. The reconstruction is provided on a HEALPix × radial-distance grid in Galactic coordinates with:• NSIDE = 32• NESTED ordering• Radial distances measured in kpc. Additional details regarding the reconstruction method and unit conversion are described in the associated publication.
