Real-Time Air Quality and Atmospheric Chemistry — FIU Miami Campus This dataset is a living, DOI-citable archive of real-time environmental observations from five instruments on and around the Florida International University (FIU) Modesto A. Maidique Campus in Miami, Florida. It captures the operational state of three instrument platforms: a PurpleAir PA-II fleet (three sensors reporting particulate matter), a Tempest WeatherFlow station (meteorology), and a Pandora 256 spectrometer (total-column atmospheric chemistry, via the Pandonia Global Network). Together they provide a continuous, heterogeneous, ground-based view of urban air quality and trace-gas chemistry at a subtropical coastal U.S. metropolitan site. The archive is designed for researchers studying urban air quality, atmospheric chemistry, tropospheric NO₂ and O₂ loading, public-health exposure, and urban climate; for educators teaching FAIR data principles; and for practitioners (city agencies, community groups, downstream integrators) who need machine-readable open air-quality data for Miami. 📝 Quick start. The data files are too numerous to list in Dataverse (~900 daily CSVs and growing); instead, open sensor_inventory.csv attached to this record. Each row gives you a direct HTTPS URL, an OSDF URL, and a SHA-256 for one daily CSV. For live status and bounded history queries, use the public dashboard API. ⚡ Realtime and update cadence. This record describes a realtime observational program. The dashboard/API provide near-realtime current readings and bounded history from the production MySQL service. The Pelican archive currently includes daily CSV files through 2026-05-12. The full per-day CSV archive (~900 files at v1.0 cut, growing continuously) is hosted on the Open Science Data Federation (OSDF) via the FIU Pelican origin server, because the archive grows outside the Dataverse versioning cadence. Keywords are aligned to the NASA GCMD Earth Science vocabulary (Air Quality, Particulate Matter, Nitrogen Dioxide, Ozone, Atmospheric Chemistry, Trace Gases, Meteorological Stations, Ground-based Observations) plus free-text instrument/platform keywords (Pandora Spectrometer, PurpleAir, Tempest WeatherFlow).
