Associated factors of Image-based sexual abuse perpetration: a systematic review and meta-analysis

This project hosts the protocol and registration of a systematic review and meta-analysis examining sociodemographic, psychological, and behavioural factors associated with the perpetration of Image-Based Sexual Abuse (IBSA). IBSA is a form of technology-facilitated sexual violence involving the non-consensual creation, dissemination, or threatened dissemination of intimate images. While prevalence estimates and victim-related consequences have been documented, no aggregated evidence currently exists on correlates of IBSA perpetration. The review will systematically synthesize observational studies to identify factors that can inform targeted preventive interventions and platform policies. Risk of bias will be assessed with ROBINS-E and certainty of evidence with GRADE; quantitative synthesis will be performed using random-effects meta-analysis in R (metafor).
