Official version 6 release for paper publication. Copied from 6.0.0rc: Pipelines: a processing framework designed from the ground-up to do better alarms, and enable things like arbitrary system control actions like opening valves and starting pumps and such. Hypervisor: consolidating the various HostMonitors into one central process. It makes sure things stay running and acts as a central dispatcher for interprocess commands. Reenvisioned command passing: rather than have everything ping the database once per seconds, it's much faster to run things over direct sockets. The hypervisor acts as the central dispatcher and maintains a queue to handle delayed commands. Screen rather than systemd: systemd is nice and all, but screen is more convenient to work with. You also can't interact with systemd by passing commands over ssh, so for the hypervisor to be able to do its thing screen is necessary. New alarm paradigm: the old system was very flexible but not utilized. We redesigned this subsystem from scratch to better match how it was being used. Rewritten and updated documentation, because it's really nice. New InfluxDB schema: now supports indexable queries! It's much faster and more compressable now.
