Description: This repository provides animations and code associated with the paper "Pole Skipping, Avoided Crossing, and Resonant Excitation in Kerr Quasinormal Modes near Algebraically Special Frequencies". Contents: Inverse_of_the_incidence_coefficient_of_the_Teukolsky_eq_on_Riemann_sheet.mp4 (Fig. 1): A visualization of the inverse of the incidence coefficient focusing on the Riemann sheet structure. This helps identify the location of poles and zeros. Kerr_black_hole_QNM_frequency_s-2l2m2.mp4 (Fig. 2): Visualizes the trajectory of QNM frequencies for the $s=-2, l=2, m=2$ mode as the black hole spin $a$ varies. Kerr_black_hole_QNM_frequency_s-2l2m2_zoomedin.mp4 (Fig. 3): A zoomed-in view of the above frequency trajectories to highlight the fine structure near $M\omega=-2i$. Kerr_black_hole_QNM_excitation_factor_s-2l2m2.mp4 (Fig. 3): Depicts the change in the excitation factor, crucial for determining the ringdown amplitude. SchwarzschildBHQNM.ipynb : A Jupyter Notebook implementing the calculation of quasinormal mode frequencies for Schwarzschild black holes using the Julia language.
