Le résumé fourni par la source
This study examines the synthesis and characterization of a coordination complex formed between copper and saccharin, an artificial sweetener with known metal-binding capabilities. A variety of instrumental techniques were employed to investigate the structural and physicochemical properties of the Cu–saccharin complex, including Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, UV-Visible spectroscopy, photoluminescence (excitation and emission) spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility studies, cyclic voltammetry (CV), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The coordination behavior of saccharin with copper was analyzed to understand the bonding environment and electronic configuration of the metal center. Spectroscopic data revealed significant shifts indicative of complex formation, while magnetic and conductivity measurements provided insights into the electronic and paramagnetic nature of the complex. CV analysis offered information about the redox properties of the copper center, and TGA helped evaluate the thermal stability and decomposition pathway. This study provides deeper insights intosaccharin’s potential as a ligand in coordination chemistry and highlight the relevance of such complexes in materials science and pharmaceutical applications. Future research may explore analogous complexes with other sulfonamide-based ligands to further investigate their functional properties.
