MosquiTUNER: a global mosquito sound dataset
Rattachement africain : hu. Niveau de preuve : code pays fourni par la source.
Le résumé fourni par la source
We compiled all published, annotated mosquito sounds to create a global mosquito sound dataset incorporating many species and multiple recordings for each. We complemented this global dataset with European species, by collecting mosquitoes in Hungary, recording their sound, and including them in the dataset. The dataset encompasses in total 437 231 sounds from 55 species. We also incorporated the final data into a website for easier data visualization and use (filtering, downloading, and uploading new sounds): https://szunyogmonitor.hu/wp-content/uploads/szunyoghang/. The dataset and website can be used (1) for training AI-based sound classification models for the monitoring of mosquito species; and (2) for ecological research questions. The metadata is described as follows: - Original_dataset: Dataset of origin - RecordingID: ID of the single-sound recording- Original_filename: Original filename before processing- Original_timestamp: Timestamp of the section in the original recording- Data_processing: Type of data processing before inclusion in the database - Number_of_mosquitoes: How many mosquitoes in the recording (1, 2, 3, 4, NA) - Individual_ID: ID of the individual mosquito. If not know, it is indicated as NA- Species: Species of the individual- Strain: Strain of the individual- form: Form of the species (usually pipiens or molestus)- ss_sl: Whether the species is sensu stricto (s.s.), the species in the strict sense, or sensu lato (s.l.) as the species complex- Sex: Sex of the individual. F=Female, M=Male, if not known, NA- Age: Age of the individual, in days post-emergence - Country: Country in which the mosquito was collected or bred- Lab_field: Whether the individual originated from an artificial colony or from the field - Stage_collection: Egg, larvae or adult- Location_collection: Where the mosquito was collected: locality if it was collected from the field, and the colony origin if it came from an artificial colony - Latitude: Latitude of the collection point (if the specimen was collected from the field) - Longitude: Longitude of the collection point (if the specimen was collected from the field)- Date_recording: Date at which the recording took place (yyyy-mm-dd) - Time_recording: Time at which the recording took place (HH:MM)- Temperature: Temperature (° C) - Humidity: Relative humidity (%)- Luminosity: Detail about the light during the recording, either the luminosity value (in lux) or the type of lights used- Arena: Type of arena used for the recording (cup, ziplock, plastic bottle, colony cage…)- Recording_method: Acoustic or opto-acoustic- Recording_equipment: Microphone, mobile phone, sensors- Model: Specific model of the recording equipment- Sample_rate: Sample rate of the recording (kHz)- Notes: Any supplementary detail about that specific recording (range for the temperature, recording data, etc)- Reference: Paper that describes the data collection and curation
