This dataset supports the analysis of fire effects on vegetation structure and species diversity in Ankarafantsika National Park (ANP), Madagascar. It was used in a manuscript currently under review in Forest Ecology and Management. Data were collected across multiple sites within ANP, each representing specific fire histories defined by fire frequency and time since last fire. At each site, vegetation was sampled in 25 m² plots along a 1.2 km transect, consisting of a 500 m burnt zone, a 500 m unburnt zone, and a 200 m section running parallel to the fire edge, located 50 m inside the burnt zone. The dataset includes the following tables: - Information: description of each table and its corresponding variables; - Structure & Diversity: vegetation structure variables, seedling and sapling density, and diversity indices per plot;- Species & Fire Sensitivity: data including height class and fire sensitivity classification per individual trees > 2.5 m recorded in each plot;- Jaccard Matrix: species presence–absence matrix per fire zone used for similarity analysis.
