Pulsed field ablation (PFA) has rapidly evolved from an experimental electroporation-based concept to a widely adopted modality in cardiac electrophysiology, marking one of the fastest clinical integrations of a novel technology in the field. Its non-thermal mechanism, based on irreversible electroporation, fundamentally distinguishes it from conventional radiofrequency and cryoablation, providing relative myocardial selectivity and driving widespread enthusiasm and clinical uptake. However, the rapid expansion of PFA into routine practice introduces new clinical and organizational challenges. The growing number of scientific statements reflects the dynamic evolution of PFA technologies and underscores the need for iterative, regionally relevant guidance. Variability in healthcare systems, procedural workflows, and resource availability further necessitates tailored guidance, particularly within the European context. As the field transitions from innovation to implementation, emphasis must shift towards standardized procedural strategies, avoidance of excessive ablation, and structured education. Training programmes must incorporate electroporation-specific principles and safety management. Ultimately, the responsible integration of PFA requires continued vigilance, registry-based surveillance, and collaborative scientific leadership. Ensuring that rapid technological progress translates into consistent, safe, and effective patient care remains a central priority for the European Heart Rhythm Association.
