Assessment of mental health disorders among patients with lichen simplex chronicus

Lichen simplex chronicus (LSC), commonly referred to as neurodermatitis, is recognized for its association with a spectrum of mental health conditions. However, previous studies have been restricted to predominantly White or Asian cohorts, and have exclusively concentrated on mood and anxiety disorders. In this study, we report on the association between LSC and various psychiatric conditions, highlighting a nearly twofold increase in the likelihood of mental health diagnoses among patients with LSC across different ethnic and racial backgrounds.
