Le résumé fourni par la source

Plant waste materials are rich sources of bioactive compounds with potential antimicrobial properties. In the present study, waste obtained from almond and lemongrass oil extraction was collected, dried, and ground into fine powder for analysis. Methanolic extract of Cymbopogon citratus and Prunus dulcis combined waste was prepared and tested for study. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of proteins, carbohydrates, tannins, cardiac glycosides, and flavonoids, while lipids and saponins were absent. Microscopic examination of the powdered sample showed the presence of crystalline and structural particles, confirming the physical characteristics of plant-derived material. Physicochemical analysis indicated acceptable color, odor, texture, and stability of the powdered waste sample at room temperature. The antimicrobial activity of the waste extract against Escherichia coli showed a clear zone of inhibition, indicating its antibacterial potential. Molecular docking analysis further supported these findings, where selected phytochemicals such as flavonol, flavone, citral, citronellal, and limonene showed strong binding affinity with the bacterial protein. Among them, flavonol showed the highest binding energy (−88.86 kcal/mol), suggesting the strongest interaction. Overall, the results confirm that almond and lemongrass waste contains bioactive compounds with significant antimicrobial potential and can be considered a valuable natural resource for antimicrobial applications.
