This dataset supports the article “Riva C., Gachoki S., … Requier F. (2026) Climate impacts apple pollination, yield and economic outcomes of farmers. Science of The Total Environment” and contains standardized monitoring from 33 apple orchards across Europe and North Africa over two years. It pairs observation‑time and long-term mean annual temperature with records of flower‑visitor identity and abundance, measures of fruit set and fruit quality (apple weight), and estimated farm‑level yield and economic outcomes. Key patterns show that warm temperatures during observations increase pollinator abundance, particularly honey bees; high long-term mean annual temperatures are associated with enhanced pollination services for apple weight; and apple yield and estimated economic benefits to farmers increase with temperature while the relative contribution of pollinators to yield declines along the long‑term temperature gradient, suggesting other processes may be involved. Four datasets are available: (1) TransectIN.txt: This data contains total count of the number of flower visitors per site during inside the apple orchard at different observation periods. Metadata: 390 obs. of 7 variables: Count (integer): Total number of observed flower visitors per site. Visitors (factor): Different flower visitor species that were observed. Temp (numeric): Mean long-term temperature (°C). Local_temp (numeric): Local temperature at the time of observation (°C). Year (factor): Years of observation. Region (factor): Unique code for individual region. Site (factor): Unique code for individual orchards. (2) GerminatedPollen.txt: This data contains the number of pollen grains that were counted in 2023. Metadata: 1061 obs. of 7 variables: Nbr_germinated_pollen (integer): Number of germinated pollens. Treatment (factor): Type of pollination treatment. Temp (numeric): Mean long-term temperature. Region (factor): Different regions. Site (factor): Number of sites within a region. Plot (factor): Unique code for individual plot with a site . Inflo_ID (factor): Individual flower cluster unique identifier. (3) Initial_Final_Fruit_Set.txt: This data contains the initial and final fruit set per site. Metadata: 816 obs. of 20 variables: Initial_nb_fruit (integer): Number of initial fruit set. Nb_Failure_Initial (integer): Number of initial fruit set that failed. Final_nb_fruit (integer): Number of final fruit set. Nb_Failure_Final (integer): Number of final fruit set that failed. Treatment (factor): Type of pollination treatment. Temp (numeric): Mean long-term temperature. Region (factor): Different regions. Site (factor): Unique code for sites within a region within a region. Plot (factor): Number of plots within a site. (4) apple_weight.txt: This data contains the number of developed and empty seeds observed per flower head across multiple treatments.
