Definition and research area of welfare psychology

This paper considers the definition of welfare psychology, research areas and research subjects. Since welfare psychology is a discipline just beginning to be recognized academically importance, Unified definition etc. are not fixed. Therefore, this paper examines the literature,and discusses the definition, research areas, objectives, etc. As a result of my consideration, I defined welfare psychology as a psychological study on social welfare issues that the genealogy of social welfare studies merged into psychology genealogy. And, I came to the conclusion that the elucidation of the psychological state etc. on happiness and the method of support within the framework of the research social system are areas and subjects of research. Finally, based on these conclusions, I considered the differences between welfare psychology and clinical psychology and social welfare studies of neighboring science.
