概要)Microwave discharge ion thruster μ10 contributed to Japanese asteroid exploration mission Hayabusa and Hyabuasa2.Additionally, the thruster will be used in the next mission DESTINY + .For these missions, we have improved the thrust performance. In Hayabusa 2 mission, the thrust is increased by 30 % compared to the Hayabusa model. Then, for DESTINY + mission, the thrust is improved by 20 % compared to the Hayabusa2 model. In this paper, to reveal the mechanism of the thrust enhancement, the internal neutral density was directly measured by two-photon laser-induced spectroscopy (TALIF).The results indicate that the neutral density is strongly related to the thrust performance. In this paper, we present the TALIF measurement system and the relationship between the neutral density and thrust performance.
