Characteristics of peer support interventions for healthy weight management during pregnancy in high-income countries: A Scoping Review Protocol.
Résumé fourni par la source
This scoping review aims to map and characterise peer-support approaches designed to influence healthy weight-related behaviours during pregnancy, including nutrition, physical activity, gestational weight gain, and weight management. Peer support interventions are increasingly recognised as potentially effective relational approaches to supporting behaviour change; however, their application during pregnancy for weight-related outcomes has not been systematically synthesised. A comprehensive search will be conducted across MEDLINE, CINAHL, PsycINFO, ASSIA, EMBASE, and MIDIRS from database inception to March 2026. Studies conducted in high-income countries will be included. Data will be extracted using Covidence and synthesised descriptively through tabulation and narrative summary to map intervention characteristics, delivery models, targeted behaviours, and reported mechanisms of impact. The findings will provide an overview of how peer support interventions for healthy weight management during pregnancy are conceptualised and implemented, and identify gaps in the existing evidence base.
