This chapter outlines the estimation of fructose in the dorsolateral prostate and coagulating glands of rats by employing Roe’s (1934) method as modified by Lindner and Mann (1960) utilizing Seliwanoff’s test reagent. The present chapter also describes the significance of fructose levels in determining the normal functioning of accessory sex glands. Fructose is an energy source for sperm metabolism and motility, and evaluation of fructose aids in understanding the biological attributes of seminal fluid. In addition, fructose along with other parameters is employed to examine male reproductive dysfunction.
