Mobility in wireless communication becomes a prime demand of users having wireless connectivity for cellular communication irrespective to user environment. Recent years wireless user type and its used device faced a drastic evolution in the industry. To support the user growth, Ultra Dense Network (UDN) deployed. However, this deployment is not uniform over the horizon. Practically wireless cells deployed according traffic pattern. This creates heterogeneous network (HetNet) environment in wireless domain with a blessing of having capability to connect more user to the network. Small cell in HetNet creates more cell boundary and obviously more handover opportunity in the network. Some of the handover specially while user have movement towards the cell boundary or as an effect of cell breathing actually ping pong in nature. To elaborate, user connectivity flips between serving and neighboring cell frequently. This creates performance issues such as handover failure, high resource consumption which leads to Quality of Service (QoS) degradation. Therefore, optimization in handover control parameter (HCP) is a good choice to improve ping pong handover or unnecessary handover. Handover Margin (HOM), Time to Trigger (TTT), and handover evaluation strategy can optimize unnecessary handover. This paper explains a way out that dynamically adjust handover control parameter and re- evaluation of Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) which gives an approximately 70.63, 67.61, and 67.55 improvement in rural, urban, and suburban area respectively for ping pong handover optimization (PPHO).
