Résumé fourni par la source

A fast-cycling superconducting dipole magnet with a central magnetic field of 6 T and a ramp rate of 1 T/s for ion synchrotron has been developed in the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP). A modified cosθ current distribution is adopted for the magnetic field design. The coil consists of eight layers of multi-strand round cables which are embedded into the machined grooves on the formers. Considering the high electromagnetic forces of the magnet, the nested coil winding is supported by a shell-based structure which uses an aluminum cylinder pre-tensioned using water-pressurized bladders and interference keys. This paper presents the mechanical design of the superconducting dipole magnet along with fabrication details, the room temperature assembly, and the cryogenic test results, respectively.
