Oedalechilus labeo (Cuvier, 1829) Vernacular names Cipol plutaš. Boxlip mullet. Previous names used for the species Mugil labeo Cuvier, 1829. Origin and geographic range in BiH Native. Adriatic Basin. Remarks According to Vuković (1963a, 1977a), it is distributed in the lower reaches of the Neretva River, where it enters from the coastal areas of the Adriatic Sea. However, no actual specimens with detailed descriptions have ever been reported (Kosorić 1978; Kosorić et al. 1983; Mikavica 1998). The report of the occurrence of the species in BiH by Vuković (1963a, 1977a) is therefore unreliable. Furthermore, environmental conditions of the lower Neretva River are not suitable for the species; therefore, its occurrence in the BiH is unlikely and the species is not included in this checklist.
