RADET Evapotranspiration Time Series Dataset for Flux-Site Validation with Accompanying Model and Analysis Code

Overview This dataset includes daily and monthly evapotranspiration (ET) time series data produced by the RADET model, extracted at locations corresponding to in situ flux measurement sites, as described in Kim et al. (2026) (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.rse.2026.115510). The in situ flux observations used for evaluation are described in Volk et al. (2023) (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.agrformet.2023.109307), with the corresponding dataset available at https://zenodo.org/records/7636781. RADET ET estimates were derived from satellite observations sampled using flux footprints and generated at both daily and monthly temporal resolutions. The resulting time series are consistent with those used in the OpenET Phase II Intercomparison, as described in Volk et al. (2024) (https://doi.org/10.1038/s44221-023-00181-7), with the associated dataset available at https://zenodo.org/records/10119477. In addition, Google Earth Engine–based RADET Python implementation (https://github.com/RAD-ET/radet-gee) and the analysis scripts (https://github.com/RAD-ET/radet-analysis), originally maintained in their respective GitHub repositories, were downloaded as ZIP archives and are included here for reproducibility. Description of the data and file structure The dataset is distributed as a compressed (zipped) archive and must be downloaded and extracted prior to use. The archive contains the following files: 1. Daily RADET ET time-series file: A comma-separated values (CSV) file containing daily RADET ET estimates (mm day⁻¹) for each flux site at satellite overpass dates. 2. Monthly RADET ET time-series file: A CSV file containing monthly aggregated RADET ET estimates (mm month⁻¹) for the same set of flux sites. 3. radet-beta-main: A snapshot copy of the GitHub repository containing the RADET Python implementation (Google Earth Engine–based model code). 4. radet-analysis-main: A snapshot copy of the GitHub repository containing R scripts used for RADET data analysis, figure generation, and runtime performance evaluation. Metadata describing the flux sites included in this dataset (e.g., site identifiers, locations, and land-cover information) are available from https://zenodo.org/records/7636781 and https://zenodo.org/records/10119477. The corresponding in situ flux measurements are not included in this archive and should be obtained from the original data sources (https://zenodo.org/records/7636781).
