This project is an integrative review examining how the concept of Total Pain is defined, interpreted, and theoretically developed across clinical, qualitative, and humanities literature. It aims to systematically compare aggregate and constitutive understandings of Total Pain, with particular attention to the role of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual domains. By synthesizing diverse forms of evidence, the study seeks to clarify conceptual ambiguities and provide a refined framework to inform both palliative care practice and future research.
