This database description comprises three core components: (1) the development of a structured database matrix, (2) the establishment of a methodological framework to guide database application, and (3) the generation of indicators alongside a preliminary analytical assessment. The overarching objective of the database is to provide a coherent analytical foundation for conducting systematic food fraud risk assessments within EU agrifood supply chains. Specifically, it focuses on the honey supply chain by integrating datasets related to production, trade, environmental factors, certification, and market dynamics. While the framework is designed for EU-wide applicability, its empirical demonstration is conducted through a case application to the Spanish honey sector. The adopted approach recognises that food fraud is a multidimensional phenomenon shaped by economic incentives, regulatory asymmetries, environmental pressures, and supply chain complexity. Accordingly, the database prioritised the harmonised integration of heterogeneous secondary data sources and the development of transparent, reproducible analytical procedures. The framework is designed to be scalable and adaptable, enabling its application to additional agri-food commodities in subsequent phases.
