Le résumé fourni par la source
Filters are key components in microwave photonics and placed at various positions in the optical path of the analog optical link. One prominent position is the selection of one of the sidebands of the modulated signal, because the processing is usually performed on one of the information sidebands, where filters with large passband and stopband are required. Candidates for side band selection are cascaded Mach-Zehnder (lattice) or Ring-Assisted Mach-Zehnder Interferometer (RAMZI). For selection of channels within the signal band, where small passbands and large stopband are needed, coupled-resonator optical waveguide (CROW) filters are a good option. This presentation gives an overview of properties different types of optical filters and important performance criteria i.e.. insertion loss, passband and stopband width, passband flattening and dispersion, stopband suppression and transition band width. A filter design method using Z-transform and the mapping to a physical layout is presented. Measurement results on several reconfigurable filters fabricated in the ultra-low loss silicon nitride SiN TriPleX®waveguides with bandwidths starting at 40 MHz and ending at several THz are presented. A novel 4-channel microwave photonic demultiplexer with reconfigurable bandwidth from 42 MHz to 1.5 GHz is demonstrated.
