Ground-dwelling arthropods sampled under artificial lights at night

pitfall_scan.zip: These images contain ground-dwelling arthropods captured in pitfall traps at the UBC Farm from Jun-Dec 2023. They were imaged with an Epson V600 scanner. The labels visible in the images match the filenames and describe the planned experimental conditions under which the data were collected. Due to technical issues, real-world conditions (i.e., the state of the light at each site) did not always match these labels. The metadata file (metadata.csv) provides information on which conditions were present at each site. The first part of each label (YYYY-MM-DD) refers to the date the sample's pitfall trap was set out (five days before it was collected). The second part of the label (integer from 1-12) refers to the site where the sample was collected. The third part of the label (C, W, or A) refers to the state of the site's artificial light: either turned off (C, or control), on a white setting (W), or on an amber setting (A). The final part of the label (0m or 5m) refers to the distance between the pitfall trap and the site's light, 0 metres or 5 metres. The three digits at the end of the file name hold no meaning. pitfall_classification.zip: These images contain the same ground-dwelling arthropods as pitfall_scan.zip, but they have been segmented by the flat-bug algorithm and identified to the lowest possible taxonomic level. sensor_data.zip: These folders contain text files encoding sensor data from each site. "Intensity" contains a lux value from an Adafruit TSL2591 intensity sensor, while "ASxx" columns contain count values from the channels of an Adafruit AS7341 spectral sensor. biomass.csv: This file contains biomass data for each pitfall sample collected. interpolated_data.csv: This file contains the processed sensor data from each site, interpolated and with corrected site labels and treatments. metadata.csv: This file contains information about the true treatment applied at each site over the sampling period. alan_specimens.csv: This file summarises the captured arthropod specimens by pitfall sample and taxonomic group.
